MindwaysCT is an industry leader and technology innovator, providing physicians with systems that enable the fully quantitative assessment of CT images. Focused on the accurate determination of tissue densities, structures and types, Mindways continues research and development efforts to advance our quantitative CT (QCT) technologies for new and innovative applications.
Incorporated in 1997, the company can trace its origins to the groundbreaking work at UCSF in the late 1970s leading to the development of the Cann & Genant QCT calibration standard in the early 80’s. Today, our systems are based around the 3rd generation, solid version of the calibration phantoms that use this standard.
Since its inception, MindwaysCT has been a pioneer in the industry. We were the first to develop a fully volumetric 3D Spine QCT system in 1997 and introduced the first fully functional CTXA hip system for QCT bone mineral density measurement at the proximal femur in 2001. We were also the first in the market with a QCT system that could connect to and support the storage and viewing of QCT BMD reports on PACS infrastructure.
MindwaysCT premier product, QCT Pro™ is the market leader in quantitative CT bone mineral density analysis. QCT Pro™ is uniquely designed to guide the user through an intuitive workflow to quickly and efficiently produce BMD patient reports. QCT Pro™ hip BMD measurements are interpreted in the same manner as DXA measurements, while volumetric spine measurements provide exceptional sensitivity to short-term bone density change.
Our investigational modules enhance QCT Pro™ capability with research tools that offer researchers an unparalleled opportunity to explore CT images in terms of tissue densities and structural parameters. The Bone Investigational Toolkit (BIT) allows the analysis of bone geometry and shape required to compute the mechanical parameters associated with hip bone strength. Our Tissue Computation Module enables the efficient segmentation and quantification of lean and fat tissues in axial CT images.
